VANESSA BELL - THE FREE BIRD

Vanessa Bell was the sister of Virginia Woolf and known for her beautiful colourful paintings.

She was a member of the Bloomsbury Group, a group of associated English writers, intellectuals, philosophers and artists from London in the first half of the 20th Century.

The Bloomsbury Group reacted against current social habits, the convention of Victorian life and the World War I. They aimed for a more quiet and free lifestyle on the South coast of the English channel.

The Charleston Farmhouse was the home and studio for Vanessa, her husband and lover. A place that brought people together and engaged with art and ideas.The house was decorated all over with the most stunning paintings, patterns and colours.

We found our inspiration for this collection in their mix of colours and patterns and have made a bright and interesting summer collection, that can be mixed and matched with all the patterns and of course with you favorite pair of jeans and the iconic white t-shirt.

Stripes, flowers. arty rainbows and quirky embroideries. A collection full of free birds, just like the Bloomsbury Group.

As usual the collection is featuring true craftmanship, genuine fabrics, beautiful handwork and embroidery like our grandmothers made it.

We keep finding inspiration in traditional craftsmanship, beautiful patterns and special
colour combinations.

For the latest story of HABIBA, the main colours are ivory, faded blue, spicy but soft yellow, warm nougat and hints of red, pink and black.
